Battles renew in vicinity of Marib Dam

MARIB, Aug. 12 (YPA) – The battles renewed on Thursday west of Marib city between Sanaa forces on the one hand, and the Saudi-led coalition forces and Al-Qaeda elements on the other, after a lull that lasted for several weeks.

Local sources in told “Yemen Press Agency” that the coalition forces and Al-Qaeda fighters launched a military attack towards the sites that fell under the grip of Sanaa forces in the vicinity of the Marib Dam.

The sources confirmed that the Sanaa forces were able to confront the attack of the coalition and Al-Qaeda in the direction of “Al-Balaq al-Qibli” mountain range.

On the 16th of last April, the Sanaa forces managed to take control of the Al-Balaq al-Qibli mountain range, after fierce battles with Al-Qaeda elements.
