Saudi judiciary issues new prison sentences against Jordanians, Palestinians,

SANAA, Aug. 12 (YPA) – The Saudi judiciary has delivered verdicts against 69 Palestinians and Jordanians, handing jail terms of up to 22 years, amid reports of torture, Prisoners of Conscience website said in a statement on Twitter.

The statement explained Hussein Yaish was sentenced to 16 years in prison, Hamza Dweik and Mahmoud Ghazal to 12 years each, and Bilal Al-Akkad to four years, as well as 15 years was issued against Samir Bushnaq, while the court acquitted Abdullah Rashid.

A number of Palestinian and Jordanian detainees were tortured, to force them to give up classified data about the resistance in Palestine, Prisoners of Conscience added.

It went on to say, the Saudi intelligence agents asked some Palestinian and Jordanian detainees to cooperate with the authorities and provide information in return for reduced sentences.

The Palestinian and Jordanian detainees who were freed by the court are still in detention and some are serious concerns about their fate.
