Biden intends to close Guantanamo Bay Prison

SANAA, Feb. 13 (YPA) – Agencies quoted White House spokeswoman Jane Saki as confirming on Friday that US President Joe Biden aims to close Guantanamo prison with the end of his presidency.
According to agencies, the administration has begun an official review of the prison’s future, with the aim of closing the controversial prison.
Observers believe that this step is a sign of a new effort to remove what human rights defenders describe as a stain attached to the image of the United States in the world.
At the end of last month, the US Department of Defense (the Pentagon) announced the suspension of the plan to vaccinate Guantanamo detainees against the Corona virus, after a wave of discontent caused by the announcement.
The American “Fox News” channel, quoted officials in the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, that the forces and the civilian population will be vaccinated and will be presented to the detainees as well.
