UAE pushes STC to confront the tribal moves in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, July 02 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced on Tuesday its first moves to thwart the Hadramout Tribal Alliance in the province.

This STC’s move came following the establishment of the first brigade of the so-called Hadramout Protection Forces last Sunday.

Ahmed Saeed bin Braik, the vice of the STC’s head, who resides in the UAE, called for the second conference of the so-called “Hadramout Inclusive Umbrella Conference” to confront what he called “the strong political winds.”

In a post on X, bin Braik confirmed that the STC would seek to make the Hadramout Inclusive Conference the political umbrella for the province’s issues.

He stated that one of the most important outcomes of the conference was the formation of a specialized negotiating delegation representing Hadramout, in a reference to pulling the rug out from under the Hadramout Tribal Alliance and the Hadramout Comprehensive Conference, headed by Sheikh Amr bin Habrish al-Ali, who is affiliated with Saudi Arabia.

Bin Braik pointed out that three communication committees were formed to develop a positive concept for holding the conference and come up with recommendations that keep pace with the current situation in the province.
