French newspaper: Bin Salman is the biggest loser of Trump’s departure

SANAA, Nov. 21 (YPA) – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is one of the most prominent leaders affected by electing Joe Biden as president of the US in the recent elections, The French newspaper Le Parisien reported.

The newspaper said in its report that Trump’s defeat caused great shock to a number of populist and dictatorial leaders around the world, most of whom did not even dare to congratulate Joe Biden for fear of Trump’s wrath.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman(MBS) is the biggest loser in this battle, the paper said.

MBS will no longer be able to reach the White House directly through privileged personal relationships with Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and diplomatic adviser, who has been turning a blind eye to all the problems he is involved in, such as the case of murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi,” said Pascal Boniface, director of the Institute for International and Strategic Relations in France.

Trump has forged close ties with the kingdom and made huge arms deals with it in support of its war on Yemen, and worked with it to undermine the Iranian regime by stifling it economically, the paper said.

“For Joe Biden, he intends to resume dialogue on the nuclear issue with Tehran,” Boniface said.

According to the paper, James Cohen, a professor of political science at Sorbonne University, believes that “Trump could complicate the task by imposing a new package of sanctions against Iran if he remains in power.”
