Political Council directs to harness state’s capabilities to spare Yemen Corona risk

SANAA, March 25 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council, in its meeting Wednesday chaired by the Council’s President Mahdi al-Mashat, issued directives to harness all the state’s health, security and military capabilities to spare Yemen the risks of the global Corona pandemic.

The Council also directed the government to exempt all services related to preparations for confronting this epidemic and to provide the possible services to the people of the southern and eastern provinces located under the occupation.

In this regard, the Council urged taking advantage of the experiences of countries invaded by the virus and making all precautionary precautions to prevent the pandemic from reaching Yemen.

The Council called on citizens to be at the level of responsibility and fully respond to the measures taken to control this global pandemic and recover from it.

The Council condemned the measures taken by Saudi Arabia recently to open a number of ports and to deport Yemenis collectively under various names, especially after announcing the presence of cases of Coronavirus infection among some of its citizens and residents, considering that the aim of those Saudi measures is to pressure the border crossings in a manner that facilitates the spread of the Corona epidemic in the Republic of Yemen, which is still free from it.

At the meeting, the Council was briefed by Head of the Higher Ministerial Committee for Epidemic Control, Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs Dr. Hussein Maqbouli and Minister of Health Dr. Taha al-Mutawakkil on the precautionary actions taken by the official agencies in the capital Sanaa and the provinces and in various ports to prevent Corona virus.

The meeting pointed out that the prevention of the causes of Coronavirus transmission is an enhancement of steadfastness and a confirmation of victory over the aggression.
