LONDON, Oct. 02 (YPA) – The Global Alliance for Palestine called Friday for international action across six continents to demand accountability for “Israel”, halt arms supplies to it, and uphold international law.
The alliance said in a statement that the campaign, involving more than 200 organizations in over 60 countries, includes demonstrations, sit-ins, and cultural and educational events, as well as actions targeting government and commercial institutions linked to Israel’s military supply chains.
The events will take place in several cities around the world, including London, Sydney, Cape Town, São Paulo, Rabat, Quito, Mexico City, Istanbul, Santiago, Reykjavik, Bangkok, Athens and Kuala Lumpur.
The campaign will run from October 9 to 11, culminating in a global day of action on October 10.
Participating organizations have taken up the campaign by calling on lawmakers to receive delegations from constituents, submit parliamentary inquiries into arms exports, push for emergency debates, and support restrictions on arms, energy and trade with Israel.
“After three years of relentless genocide and mounting state-sponsored settler violence, the fiction of restraint and the hollow promises of international diplomacy stand completely exposed. October 10 is a decisive intervention built upon the tireless work of our global movement. We are assembling across every continent under one clear mandate: to defend the land, end the genocide, halt military supply lines, and enforce universal international law,” said Dr. Anas Altikriti, secretary-general of the Global Alliance for Palestine.
Participating organizations include established anti-war, Palestine solidarity, human rights and grassroots organizations from across the globe.
They include the Stop the War Coalition and Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the United Kingdom; the Federation of Palestinian Entities of Latin America; the Australian Palestine Advocacy Network; Viva Palestina Malaysia and MyCARE in Southeast Asia; CODEPINK and Labor for Palestine in North America; and the Palestine Solidarity Alliance in South Africa.
The mobilization is organized around two linked calls: “Defend the Land” and “End the Genocide,” addressing both Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza and escalating state-sponsored settler violence, land seizures and military raids across the occupied West Bank.
