Hundreds of wounded southern fighters face dire conditions in hospitals

ADEN, Sept. 15 (YPA) – Hundreds of wounded fighters from Yemen’s southern provinces recruited by Saudi-backed factions are facing dire conditions in hospitals, according to rights sources familiar with the matter.

The sources said hundreds of wounded fighters were being left without adequate medical care in hospitals in Aden, Lahj and Abyan, with many facing deteriorating health conditions.

They said widespread neglect in the hospitals had led to the deterioration of many patients’ conditions and the infection of their wounds.

Some wounded fighters had reportedly died from their injuries amid the lack of medical care, the source added.

The sources also accused faction leaders and Saudi military officials of failing to intervene to help the wounded.

The situation has sparked widespread anger among political and rights activists and social figures in Aden and other southern provinces.

Rights activists called on fighters from Yemen’s southern and eastern provinces to leave the front lines and return to their home.

They also opposed the fighters’ continued deployment on Saudi-backed front lines against Sanaa forces, saying the fighting serves the Muslim Brotherhood rather than the southern cause.
