Sanaa reaffirms readiness for just peace to UN Envoy, emphasizes priority of humanitarian issue

SANAA, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Sanaa reaffirmed its readiness to achieve a just peace and end the war and blockade imposed on Yemen during virtual talks held on Sunday between Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulwahid Abu Ras and the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg.

During the meeting, Abu Ras emphasized that addressing the humanitarian issue serves as the primary gateway to resolving all other matters, holding the Saudi regime responsible for the deteriorating conditions due to its lack of engagement with Sanaa’s calls in this regard.

On the ground, the Deputy Foreign Minister addressed the operations conducted by the armed forces in several districts of the western coast, confirming that the situation there has stabilized and that the government is fulfilling its duties to address the humanitarian situation.

He further stressed that maritime navigation remains safe, noting that the restriction applies strictly to Saudi navigation previously targeted, while expressing Sanaa’s support for the UN Envoy’s efforts to achieve peace.

For his part, the UN Envoy Hans Grundberg affirmed the United Nations’ commitment to continuing efforts aimed at de-escalation and achieving peace in Yemen.
