LAHJ, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Deputy head of the General Council of Sarar in Yafa’a city, Mohammed Al-Taheri, called on tribal sheikhs, tribesmen, and military and civilian leaders to assume their responsibilities in protecting their areas and thwarting Saudi attempts to ignite armed confrontations in the region.
In news statements on Sunday, Al-Taheri stressed that tribal sheikhs of Yafa’a would not become a battleground or a passage for suspicious groups seeking to confront Sanaa forces.
He emphasized the need to protect villages and local areas from bombardment and destruction.
Al-Taheri said the firm position of the tribes is based on rejecting any attack on their lands while, at the same time, refraining from attacking the lands of neighboring tribes and areas.
He also called on all members of Yafa’a tribes to uphold the tribal agreements and pledges concluded with neighboring tribes and preserve reconciliation and social peace in a manner that protects lives and spares the region the devastation of conflicts and armed escalation.
