Israeli forces close Ramallah checkpoints, disrupting Palestinian movement

RAMALLAH, Aug. 13 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces closed several military checkpoints surrounding Ramallah on Wednesday evening, blocking Palestinian vehicles from leaving the city. The closures caused severe traffic jam and long lines of vehicles.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces tightened security measures at the checkpoints and city entrances and prevented vehicles from leaving, disrupting the movement of Palestinian residents.

Heavy traffic was reported around the checkpoints, particularly along routes leading out of Ramallah, making it difficult for residents to travel.

The measures are part of tightened Israeli restrictions on movement in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate. Israeli forces have closed checkpoints and gates and set up temporary checkpoints, forcing residents to take longer alternative routes.
