Sanaa criticizes Saudi Arabia’s calls for int’l coalitions as Riyadh backtracks on 2022 agreements

SANAA,  Sept. 29 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based government has disclosed a complete Saudi reversal on the roadmap of agreements and understandings reached between the two sides since 2022, which were designed to establish a period of de-escalation.

Abdulmalik Al-Ajri, a member of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, stated that Riyadh has backtracked on previous consensus and is seeking to intervene in Yemen through airstrikes, destruction, and a blockade.

 Al-Ajri criticized Saudi calls for a global mobilization involving the United States, Europe, Turkey, and Pakistan, as well as its appeals to religious scholars to declare a “sacred jihad” under the pretext of protecting maritime routes and holy sites, simply because Yemen exercised its right to self-defense. He denounced the logic underpinning Riyadh’s actions.
