Iran: Strait of Hormuz will remain closed unless Washington changes conduct, accepts conditions

TEHRAN, Aug. 12 (YPA) – “Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz unless the United States alters its conduct and accepts Iranian conditions,” Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei stated on Tuesday.

In a statement, Rezaei clarified that Washington must end the war across the region, including in Lebanon and Gaza, alongside other conditions transmitted through intermediaries.

He further noted that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz remains separate from any potential agreement between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman regarding transit rights through the strait.
