Sanaa calls on residents in Yemen eastern, southern areas to stay away from Saudi military supply sites

SANAA, Aug. 08 (YPA) – Member of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Abdul-Malik Al-Ajri, issued a warning to residents of Yemen’s eastern and southern provinces, urging them to stay away from military camps and Saudi military supply gathering points, saying such locations have become part of the Sanaa forces’ target bank.

In a post on X, Al-Ajri called on residents to avoid Saudi military supply sites, warning that the Saudi-led campaign “does not care about the destruction inflicted on Yemen.”

His message also carried political and military implications. Al-Ajri referred to growing anger among soldiers over attempts to dismantle the remaining army and replace it with extremist militias. He urged soldiers to demonstrate their loyalty to Yemen.

Al-Ajri held Saudi Arabia responsible for the abnormal situation in Yemen, saying Riyadh would bear responsibility for its consequences and even for minor incidents as long as the current situation continues.

He also stressed that Yemenis are capable of determining their own future, saying Saudi Arabia should be treated as a neighboring state and that Yemen is not a nation that can be placed under the guardianship of any outside party.

The remarks came amid military operations by Sanaa forces against large Saudi-backed military deployments in Yemen.

According to sources cited in the report, Sanaa forces have targeted military camps and positions in Hadramout and Marib with ballistic missiles and drones over the past 48 hours, causing heavy losses among the deployed forces and their equipment, including Saudi officers and fighters of several nationalities.

Al-Ajri’s statements combined a field warning with a political message, signaling that Sanaa views the new military deployments as a serious escalation and warning that continued escalation could expand the scope of the targets and confrontation.
