WASHINGTON, Aug. 08 (YPA) – The U.S. Senate passed a bill to impose new sanctions and tariffs on Russia in a final vote of 86 to 11.
The bill will be sent to the House of Representatives for consideration after it returns from its summer recess in September.
The law includes a 100% tariff on the top five buyers of Russian energy, and a 500% tariff on all Russian imports to the US, with exemptions for countries whose purchases of Russian gas are less than 15% if they reduce them.
It also includes sanctions on several Russian banks.
