US military begins relocating aerial refueling aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport following Israeli pressure

OCCUPIED QUDS, Aug. 06 (YPA) – The US military has begun relocating a number of its aerial refueling aircraft from Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.

The move comes following intensive pressure applied by Israeli Transportation Minister Miri Regev on security officials to maintain normal airport operations and facilitate passenger movement during the peak travel season.

Israeli occupation’s Channel 12 quoted military sources as stating that the departure of the US military aircraft is intended to ease strain on the airport’s infrastructure. The facility is preparing to accommodate over 2.6 million passengers during the month of August, with daily traffic reaching up to 100,000 travelers, marking one of the busiest periods at the airport since October 7, 2023.

Neither Washington nor Tel Aviv has issued an immediate official comment regarding the step.
