Hamas delegation meets Turkish intelligence chief to discuss Gaza negotiations, developments

ANKARA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – A delegation from Hamas, led by Khalil al-Hayya, met on Monday with the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT), İbrahim Kalın, to discuss political and field developments, the status of negotiations, and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, alongside violations in the West Bank, Quds (Jerusalem), and against prisoners.

Al-Hayya described the latest round of negotiations as “decisive and important,” emphasizing the need for genuine efforts to hold the Israeli occupation to ceasefire commitments. He called on Turkey to continue its role alongside mediators to oversee implementation. Furthermore, he stressed the necessity of immediately halting violations, as well as restructuring the Palestinian political landscape based on partnership, democracy, and the rebuilding of leadership institutions.

For his part, Kalın reaffirmed the consistency of his country’s position, praising the stance of Hamas and other Palestinian factions during the negotiations. He underlined the necessity of moving forward with practical steps and implementing agreed-upon measures to guarantee the Palestinian people’s right to a dignified life.
