Protesters gather near White House ahead of Netanyahu’s visit to Washington

WASHINGTON, July 28 (YPA) – Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered near the White House on Tuesday to protest the visit of Israeli occupation’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the United States.

Protesters raised Palestinian flags and carried banners criticizing US administration policy regarding the military operations in the Gaza Strip. Demonstrators also held signs condemning US military cooperation with “Israel”, displaying slogans such as “Stop the US/Israeli War Machine” and “Human Rights for Palestinians Matter Too.”

Netanyahu departed Nevatim Airbase near Beersheba on Monday for Washington. The flight details were not announced in advance due to security concerns. The Israeli Prime Minister is expected to hold talks with US President Donald Trump later today.

Observers note that the US-Israeli meeting comes amid ongoing military actions in Gaza and growing public calls within the United States to halt military aid and financial support to “Israel”.
