Hamas delegation in Cairo to discuss second phase of agreement and MFO in Gaza

SANAA, July 28 (YPA) – A Hamas delegation is heading to Cairo, on Tuesday, to resume negotiations on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.

The visit coincides with Israel’s expansion of the “yellow zone” in the Gaza Strip, and comes two days after the occupation authorities agreed to the entry of the “Peace Council” and the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) into Gaza.

The delegation will hold meetings with Egyptian officials and mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, as well as with Palestinian factions, to discuss consolidating the ceasefire and ensuring the implementation of the Sharm el-Sheikh commitments, particularly the humanitarian aspect, and moving to the second phase of President Trump’s plan.

The talks will focus on improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the flow of aid, and paving the way for the start of the second phase to end the war.

It is worth noting that the MFO is part of Trump’s plan, proposed for October 2025, to manage the transitional phase in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli decision preceded Netanyahu’s departure for Washington to meet with Trump today.
