Former STC official describes pain of house arrest in Saudi Arabia

ADEN, July 27 (YPA) – Former minister and senior figure in the dissolved Southern Transitional Council (STC), Mohammed Al-Zaouri Al-Subaihi, who is under house arrest in Riyadh, published an emotional social media post titled “Pain”, describing the hardship of forced confinement and longing to return to Aden.

Al-Zaouri, who previously served as Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in the Saudi-backed Aden government, said seven months had passed since his forced departure, expressing the suffering of prolonged detention and the desire to return home.

“Seven months have passed, each day counted in pain, hoping our homeland will once again open its arms to us,” he wrote, adding that memories of loved ones and home remain ever-present.

He suggested that he and other STC members had left Aden against their will, stressing that despite oppression and the pain of exile, they remained determined to endure the pressure they face in Riyadh.

Al-Zaouri concluded by expressing confidence that they would eventually return to Yemen, regardless of the hardships, describing exile as unjust and imposed upon them.
