China adds 14 EU entities to export control list

BEIJING, July 25 (YPA) – China’s Ministry of Commerce has placed 14 European Union entities, including the Lafert Group, on its export control list, banning exports of dual-use goods to them. Beijing said the move is intended to safeguard national security and national interests.

The decision comes as France and Germany prepare to unveil a joint roadmap by September to address what they describe as China’s unfair trade practices, amid European concerns that China’s industrial and trade surplus is undermining the competitiveness of key sectors.

The European Union has classified China as a systemic rival rather than merely a trading partner since 2019.
