Reports claim Saudi recruitment of southern Yemeni youth for deployment along Iraqi border

SANAA, July 25 (YPA) – Informed media sources have reported active broker networks linked to delegates of the Saudi “Special Committee” operating in Aden and Hadramout provinces to recruit thousands of young men from Yemen’s southern and eastern governorates for military training inside Saudi camps.

According to the sources, the recruitment is being conducted under the banner of the Salafist-led “Southern Forces”. The recruits are reportedly intended for deployment along Saudi Arabia’s northern border with Iraq to counter potential field developments.

The move comes amid concerns over potential ground threats originating from Iraqi territory, coinciding with heightened regional tensions involving Riyadh, Washington, and “Israeli occupation” on one side, and Iran and the “Axis of Resistance” on the other.

The sources noted that the operations are being conducted in complete secrecy, exploiting young men’s need for employment, and without any official comment from the leadership of the Saudi forces. They described the moves as a reflection of rapid military and political shifts, alongside Riyadh’s progression toward US-brokered normalization with “Zionist entity”.
