Air France suspends flights to Riyadh amid escalating regional tensions

PARIS, July 21 (YPA) – International airlines began suspending flights to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday as tensions and the ongoing crisis between Riyadh and Sanaa escalate.

Air France officially announced the suspension of its flights to Riyadh Airport, the largest airport in the Saudi capital. While the carrier did not specify the exact reasons for the decision, the timing points to growing international concerns over the expanding impact of the air and maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia.

This marks the first time the French airline has halted its services to Saudi Arabia, a step that may prompt other international carriers to suspend their operations as well.

The move comes after international airlines had already suspended flights to five airports in southern Saudi Arabia, following attacks by Sanaa forces targeting Abha International Airport in response to Saudi bombardment of Sanaa International Airport.
