Israeli soldier “Katz” dies of wounds sustained in Iranian missile strike on Haifa

OCCUPIED QUDS, July 15 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces announced on Wednesday the death of soldier Michael Katz, 82, who succumbed to severe injuries sustained approximately three months ago when shrapnel from an Iranian missile struck the city of Haifa in occupied Palestine.

According to Hebrew media outlets, including the Israeli occupation forces radio and Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, Katz—a former employee of the Israeli military technology company Rafael—was injured on April 5th when an Iranian ballistic missile directly struck a building in Haifa. The strike was part of Iran’s “Lion’s Roar” military operation targeting locations within the Israeli occupation entity.

These missile strikes were launched in response to the joint Israeli-American aggression against Iran that commenced on February 28th.

The announcement of the soldier’s death coincides with renewed, intense military confrontations between the United States and Iran. This escalation follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement on July 8th terminating the ceasefire agreement known as the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding,” which had been signed electronically through Pakistani mediation and took effect on June 18th.
