TEHRAN, July 15 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman and negotiating team member Ismail Baghaei confirmed on Wednesday that there are no negotiations currently underway, stressing that Tehran’s focus is on defense and protecting national security.
Baghaei explained that Iran’s commitments were contingent on the other party’s commitment, but Tehran suspended their implementation after Washington reneged on its pledges, emphasizing that any attack on Iranian territory will be met with a direct and strong response from the armed forces.
He pointed out that the recent US attack on southern Iran was an illegal act, noting that his country responded to it and will continue to take the necessary measures to deter any future attacks.
For his part, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stressed that the Iranian armed forces will respond decisively to any US aggression, warning Washington against continuing its approach, and emphasizing that past experiences have proven that this path will only bring it failure.
