Telegraph: Burnham considers canceling Palantir contract with British health

LONDON, July 04 (YPA) – The Telegraph Newspaper revealed that Andy Burnham, the leading candidate to succeed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, is considering ending the contract of the American company Palantir with the National Health Service in England.

The newspaper stated that Burnham, expected to become Prime Minister in July, is inclined not to renew the £330 million, seven-year contract for operating the unified data platform FDP in hospitals.

It explained that the criticisms are not only related to the platform’s efficiency, but also to Palantir’s record of working with security and military entities, including the Israeli occupation army, which has led Labour MPs and unions to demand the cancellation of the contract.

Burnham’s supporters pointed out that he did not sign any contract with the company during his nine years as Mayor of Greater Manchester.
