IRGC targets Ali Al-Salem base in Kuwait, US Fifth Fleet HQ in Bahrain

TEHRAN, June 28 (YPA) –  Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) carried out a major operation using missiles and drones against American targets in the region early on Sunday in response to the US aggression against the country.

In a statement, the IRGC said its Navy and Aerospace Force responded decisively to the latest US aggression and launched a joint missile and drone operation at 2:00 to 3:00 AM Sunday, destroying “eight important infrastructures of the US army at the Ali al-Salem Airbase in Kuwait and the US Fifth Fleet (headquarters) in Port Salman, Bahrain.”

It said the “aggressor enemy, whose very nature is characterized by breaking commitments and violating agreements, attacked five coastal outposts of the Islamic Republic in the early hours of today under the pretext of responding to the IRGC Navy’s confronting a trespassing vessel (in the Strait of Hormuz).”

The statement noted that according to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the US, the Islamic Republic of Iran is in charge of making arrangements for controlling traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that from now on, vessels found to be in violation will be dealt with more firmly than before.

The enemy should know that violating the ceasefire is against Article 1 of the Islamabad MoU and will result in a complete halt to the processes related to the MoU, the IRGC went on to say.
