Sanaa Foreign Ministry congratulates Iraqi people, resistance on withdrawal of US forces

SANAA, Oct. 01 (YPA) – The Foreign Ministry in Sanaa issued a statement on Thursday congratulating the Iraqi people, the Popular Mobilization Forces, and Iraqi resistance groups on the complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.

According to the statement, this great victory and significant gain was achieved through the persistent and continuous efforts of the Iraqi resistance, which undermined the American military presence in the country since the onset of the occupation.

The ministry noted that this landmark event followed years of endurance, suffering, and perseverance, citing the Abu Ghraib prison as a key symbol of that period. It added that the expulsion of the American occupier confirms the fact that foreign occupation, however long it lasts, is destined to end and that the will of the people will ultimately prevail.

Reaffirming its position, the Foreign Ministry reiterated Yemen’s firm support for Iraq’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, wishing the Iraqi people continued security, stability, and prosperity.
