One again, US launches new strikes against Iran

TEEHRAN, June 28 (YPA) – The US military conducted a series of airstrikes on multiple sites in southern Iran on Sunday.

According to Iranian state media, the strikes targeted a communication tower in Sirik and strategic facilities on Qeshm Island.

Meanwhile, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the operation, stating that that US forces conducted additional strikes against multiple Iranian targets in response to an attack against a Panama-flagged tanker near the Strait of Hormuz.

“CENTCOM forces launched strikes today in direct response to continued Iranian aggression against commercial shipping,” Centcom said in a statement on the social platform X.

“US military aircraft targeted Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and minelayer capabilities.”
