Four major European powers signal readiness to lift Iran sanctions

The leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy issued a joint statement issued a joint stamen haling the MOU and offering to lift relevant sanctions in response to “clear, verifiable nuclear steps”.

The E4 called for urgent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

They also expressed full support for Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity and backed a robust ceasefire in the Arab country.

In a statement earlier on Monday, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced that the country had reached a memorandum of understanding with the United States to end the war following months of intensive negotiations, adding that the agreement would take effect starting tonight.

US President Donald Trump also announced earlier on Monday that an agreement with Iran had been finalized, congratulating all parties involved in the negotiations that led to the understanding.
