Hebrew media: Netanyahu told Trump “Israel” is not bound by Lebanon clause in Iran deal and will not withdraw

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, June 15 (YPA) –Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump that “Israel” will not withdraw from Lebanon and does not consider itself bound by the Lebanon clause in the agreement with Iran.

According to Israeli officials cited by Yedioth Ahronoth, Netanyahu also informed Trump that Israeli forces will not withdraw from Lebanon and that the Israeli forces will maintain their current positions, continuing operations to neutralize Hezbollah threats, including the destruction of militant infrastructure and responses to any attack on Israeli territory.

In a statement earlier on Monday, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced that the country had reached a memorandum of understanding with the United States to end the war following months of intensive negotiations, adding that the agreement would take effect starting tonight.

US President Donald Trump also announced earlier on Monday that an agreement with Iran had been finalized, congratulating all parties involved in the negotiations that led to the understanding.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had authorized the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping and trade without transit fees, alongside the immediate lifting of the US naval blockade on Iran.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said earlier on Monday that the United States and Iran had reached a peace agreement following intensive negotiations, adding that both sides had agreed to an immediate and permanent ceasefire across all fronts, including Lebanon.

The official signing ceremony is scheduled to be held in Switzerland on June 19, 2026.
