TEHRAN, June 14 (YPA) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ebrahim Rezaei, emphasized on Sunday the necessity of responding to “Israel” following a recent Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
“Even if we seek an agreement or an understanding, the path to achieving it lies in disciplining the Israeli entity,” Rezaei stated in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
He warned that failing to restrain “Israel” would undermine any diplomatic progress, adding, “If the savage Israeli entity is not reined in, any agreement will harm us immediately after its signing.” He further stressed, “We must not make a miscalculation.”
Rezaei’s remarks follow an Israeli airstrike that targeted a five-story residential building in the Ghobeiry neighborhood of Beirut’s southern suburbs.
The military strike coincides with anticipated developments regarding a reported memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict. Israeli entity has openly opposed such diplomatic tracks, with officials characterizing a potential US-Iran understanding as detrimental to Israeli security interests.
Tehran continues to maintain a unified stance regarding the regional conflict, emphasizing that the security situations in Iran and Lebanon are deeply intertwined. Iranian officials have consistently signaled that any ceasefire or cessation of hostilities must apply simultaneously to both nations, rejecting any partial or segregated resolutions.
