PYONGYANG, June 07 (YPA) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected one of the country’s major defense industrial facility, where he reviewed the production status of key weapons systems for the first half of the year.
During the inspection, Kim received a report outlining plans to boost missile production capacity and emphasized that expanding output is a core task needed to meet what he described as a sharp rise in missile demand.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Sunday, Kim praised the facility for completing its key weapons production targets for the first half of the year ahead of schedule and for accelerating preparations for second‑half production.
He ordered the facility defense manufacturer to expand its ballistic and cruise missile production capacity by two and a half times over the next five years.
