Two Palestinian workers wounded by Israeli forces’ gunfire west of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Sept. 14 (YPA) – Two Palestinian workers were injured by Israeli occupation army gunfire on Sunday evening in the Karmezhan area of Beit Jala, west of Bethlehem.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation forces opened live fire at several workers as they attempted to reach their workplaces in Quds (Jerusalem), wounding two of them—one in the foot and the other in the thigh.

Thousands of Palestinian workers have endured hardship for more than two and a half years after being prevented from working inside the occupied territories, cutting them off from their main source of income and leaving them without a stable livelihood to support their families and meet their daily needs.

According to available data, more than 250,000 Palestinian workers have been prevented from reaching their workplaces inside the occupied Palestinian territories since Oct. 7, 2023. The restrictions have lasted for more than 30 months, depriving them of their main source of income.

Since October 2023, more than 35,000 Palestinian workers have reportedly been arrested or pursued, while more than 52 others have been killed while trying to earn a living for their families.
