PM launches national polio immunization campaign

SANAA, Aug. 6 (YPA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor on Monday inaugurated in the capital Sanaa the national immunization campaign against polio.

The campaign, which started in the capital and other provinces of the country and will continue until August 8l, targets more than five million children under the age of five in all the targeted provinces.

In addition to the polio vaccine, the campaign, which is carried out by the Ministry of Public Health and Population in collaboration with my organization, WHO and UNICEF and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, gives a dose of vitamin “A” to the targeted children of the age of six months and above.

The prime minister commended the efforts exerted by the health ministry to implement this important national campaign for children’s health in Yemen.
