BEIRUT, May 17 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon (Hezbollah) announced on Sunday that it had carried out a series of operations targeting Israeli forces and military vehicles in several areas of southern Lebanon, claiming direct hits and casualties among Israeli troops.
The group said its fighters detonated explosive devices against several Israeli bulldozers and military vehicles as they attempted to advance from the town of Rshaf toward Hadatha.
It added that an Israeli force trying to recover one of the damaged bulldozers entered a minefield that was subsequently detonated, forcing Israeli troops to withdraw under heavy fire and smoke cover.
The resistance also detonated an explosive device against an “Israeli” enemy army force attempting to advance into the Safita area near the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif, leaving its members dead and wounded.
In a separate operation, the group said its fighters targeted an “Israeli” enemy army military vehicle in the town of Al-Bayyadah with an attack drone, leaving the vehicle burning.
The resistance further stated that its fighters targeted a gathering of “Israeli” enemy army soldiers at the port in the town of Naqoura with two attack drones, while another gathering of “Israeli” enemy army soldiers at Khallat Raj in the town of Dair Sirian was hit with artillery shells.
