OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 14 (YPA) – The Israeli Occupation Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Thursday that it signed a $34 million deal with a systems company to manufacture external fuel tanks to increase the range and endurance of F-35 fighter jets.
It added that the new capability is expected to increase the aircraft’s operational range, reduce dependence on aerial refueling, and enhance operational flexibility in long-range missions.
The occupation army further stated in its announcement that integrating the additional fuel tanks did not compromise the aircraft’s stealth capabilities, which allow it to evade radar systems, noting the addition of four missiles on the wings.
In February, the Israeli ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, said that “Israel” had modified its F-35I fighter jets to extend their flight range by integrating additional fuel tanks.
