DARAA, QUNEITRA, May 13 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces escalated their military operations in southern Syria, with artillery shelling targeting agricultural areas in the Daraa countryside and an incursion of military vehicles into the Quneitra countryside.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the shelling targeted the plains between the towns of Jamla and Saisoun and the areas extending between Maariya and Abdeen in the Yarmouk Basin in the western Daraa countryside, with no casualties reported so far.
Meanwhile, an Israeli patrol consisting of six vehicles entered the village of Saida al-Golan in the Quneitra countryside and conducted a search of a house, amid anxiety among the residents.
The escalation comes amid increased Israeli activity in southern Syria in recent months, and coincides with rising regional tensions and widening confrontations in the area.
