Sanaa FM discusses Gaza developments with Hamas leader

SANAA, May 12 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul Wahid Abu Ras held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip and chief of the negotiating delegation.

According to the official Saba News Agency, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena and the ongoing situation in Gaza.

During the call, Abu Ras expressed his condolences to Al-Hayya over the death of his son, Azzam, who was martyred in the Israeli occupation’s strikes on the Strip.

The deputy foreign minister also reaffirmed Yemen’s stated position in support of the Palestinian people and their cause, stressing that the Palestinian issue remains the central issue of the Arab and Islamic nation.

He added that Yemen’s leadership, government, and people would continue to stand alongside Palestinians until they achieve their legitimate rights and establish an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.

For his part, Al-Hayya praised Yemen’s support for the Palestinian people in Gaza and conveyed greetings to Abdul-Malik al-Houthi and the Yemeni people.
