Iran sends strategic threat to undersea internet cables
TEHRAN, May 09 (YPA) – Spokesman of Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters of Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, announced that Iran would begin charging fees on submarine internet cables.
In a brief post on the X platform: “We will charge for internet cables”.
This move followed Iran’s earlier declaration of its intention to manage the Strait of Hormuz, a vital strategic passage, including regulating maritime traffic in the area.
