Israeli Likud lawmaker incites against Egyptian army

OCCUPIED QUDS, April 28 (YPA) – Amit Halevi, a member of the Israeli Knesset from the Likud Party led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has incited against the Egyptian army regarding military exercises being conducted in the Sinai Peninsula between April 26 and 30.

In a televised statement, Halevi said, “The exercises and live-fire maneuvers that the Egyptian army announced it would conduct on our borders, just 100 meters from border-adjacent towns, are nothing but a display of a broader and more concerning picture.”

Halevi claimed that Egypt is “systematically” violating the decades-old peace treaty with “Israel” by “establishing combat infrastructure in Sinai and building a massive and modern army.”

He added, “The paper on which the agreement was signed will not protect [Israel] from danger, nor will it protect the population.”

Egypt and the Israeli occupation signed a peace treaty in Washington on March 26, 1979, following the “Camp David Accords” between the two sides in 1978.
