TEHRAN, April 28 (YPA) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Army, Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia, has pulled back the curtain on the latest confrontation, confirming that intelligence agencies detected indicators of aggression before it occurred, allowing the Armed Forces to raise their readiness to maximum levels.
In a televised interview on Tuesday, Akrami-Nia revealed that the Air Force executed precision strikes against US bases in the region, including targets in Iraq’s Erbil, Kuwait, and Qatar. Key highlights of his statements included:
- Rare Operation: The success of F-5 fighter jets in penetrating complex US defensive layers and directly striking a US base.
- Drones and Missiles: The continued launching of drones and “Fajr” and “Fateh” missiles until the final days of the war.
- Ground Deterrence: The enemy’s failure to carry out any “ground invasion” or border incursion in the face of the readiness of the Army and the Revolutionary Guard.
- Strategic Control: He emphasized continued full control over the Strait of Hormuz and the updating of the “target bank,” even during the ceasefire period.
The Brigadier General concluded his remarks with a cautionary tone, stressing that all units are in a state of “maximum alert” and that, from Tehran’s perspective, the war is not yet over.
