ADEN, Oct. 28 (YPA) – Sanaa forces called on Wednesday for the immediate evacuation of Aden International Airport, following the arrival of Saudi military cargo planes unloading equipment and ammunition intended to support and mobilize affiliated armed factions.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, military spokesperson for the Sanaa forces, said, “We renew our call for the last time to those present at Aden Airport to evacuate immediately, due to the presence of a Saudi enemy military cargo aircraft transporting weapons to kill the Yemeni people.”
The warning coincided with violent explosions that shook Badr Military Camp near Aden Airport on Wednesday afternoon, following the arrival of a Saudi military cargo plane carrying supplies and ammunition to counter Sanaa forces. Local eyewitnesses confirmed that nearly ten trucks entered the airport premises to unload the incoming arms shipment from Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on these developments, Southern military expert Khaled al-Nasi said, “We have previously called on Saudi Arabia, noting that Aden Airport is located in the middle of residential neighborhoods and is unsuitable for any military activities on its grounds.”
Al-Nasi added that a military airfield in Salah al-Din or the Al-Anad Air Base could instead be utilized to support Saudi-aligned factions.
