ABYAN, April 07 (YPA) – Two children were wounded by stray bullets on Tuesday during armed clashes between tribesmen from the “Al-Mansouri” and “Al-Tarmoum” families in the heart of Lodar’s central market, Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen.
Local sources reported that the skirmishes, sparked by a long-standing land dispute, erupted in the crowded marketplace, causing widespread panic among civilians. One of the children is reportedly in critical condition.
The incident highlights the ongoing security vacuum and the escalation of tribal feuds in the region, where public spaces are increasingly used as arenas for settling private disputes amid a prolonged absence of authorities loyal to Saudi Arabia.
