Sayyed al-Houthi stresses deterrence strategy in drawing map of power for nation

SANAA, April 02 (YPA) – Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, emphasized on Thursday the importance of the “Quranic equation,” which rejects the idea that the Islamic nation should remain vulnerable and suffer alone without responding to its enemies.

In a speech addressing the latest regional developments, Sayyed al-Houthi stated that one outcome of Iran’s firm and effective stance is the restoration of a deterrence equation for the Islamic nation, replacing a previous state of passivity and vulnerability.

He explained that sacrifices are an essential part of jihad for the sake of Allah, carried out in support of just causes and rightful positions. These sacrifices, he said, are meaningful and productive, forming part of a Quranic framework that rejects the notion of a nation enduring suffering alone. Instead, it calls for inflicting pain on the enemy and confronting them directly.

The movement’s leader stressed that this “Quranic equation” is based on harming and deterring the enemy while placing the nation in a position of resistance rather than submission. It rejects both surrender and acceptance of vulnerability.

He added that it is the duty of the nation to confront what he described as the evil actions of its enemies, to oppose them through jihad, and to stand firm with determination and resilience.

According to leader al-Houthi, consistent and serious action—marked by strength and effectiveness, without weakness in either stance or performance—is key to achieving meaningful results in protecting the nation and deterring its adversaries.

He also highlighted a “high-level” scene in today’s conflict, referring to unity among groups aligned along the Axis of Jihad and Resistance. He said this unity reflects the teachings of the Quran, adding that if the entire nation mobilized against a common enemy, it would form a unified front against opposing forces.

Finally, Sayyed al-Houthi identified what he sees as the core problem facing the nation: inaction. He said the nation possesses vast potential and necessary resources, but suffers from a lack of initiative, avoidance of responsibility, and absence of a clear, correct vision guided by religious principles and aligned with current realities.
