BEIRUT, March 24 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday the withdrawal of the Iranian ambassador’s credentials, declaring him “persona non grata” and ordering his departure by next Sunday.
The ministry also recalled the Lebanese ambassador to Tehran for consultations, citing “violations of diplomatic norms and established protocols.”
This unprecedented escalation follows rising tensions between the two countries since Nawaf Salam assumed the Lebanese premiership.
Observers warn that this move marks a major turning point that could have significant repercussions on Lebanon’s complex domestic and political landscape.
