Senior Israeli official injured in stabbing attack in Ramat Gan

QUDS, March 12 (YPA) – A member of the municipal council of Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv, was injured on Thursday afternoon in a stabbing attack carried out in Ramat Gan, within the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories.

The Israeli channel Kan reported that the stabbing incident in Ramat Gan is suspected to have a nationalist motive. The attack left a member of the Bnei Brak Municipal Council injured, described as a prominent figure in the Shas Party, according to the Sanad News Agency.

Israeli media outlets also reported that the attack targeted lawyer Gedaliah Ben Shimon, head of the Religious Council in Ramat Gan, and described his condition as very critical.

Israeli police stated that the perpetrator of the stabbing attack in Ramat Gan is a 20-year-old Palestinian from the village of Jatt in the occupied territories of Palestine.

Last February, eight Israelis were killed or injured during 297 resistance operations and popular actions carried out by Palestinian fighters and youths in the West Bank and Al-Quds city.
