TEHRAN, March 11 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared on Wednesday that two ships were stopped in the Strait of Hormuz after ignoring warnings issued by its naval forces, stressing that it would prevent the United States and its partners from passing through the strait.
Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported on Wednesday, citing the IRGC’s public relations office, that naval forces of the IRGC targeted a vessel named “Express Room,” which the statement described as belonging to Israeli enemy and sailing under the Liberian flag. The ship was reportedly forced to halt after several warnings were issued.
According to the statement, another container ship identified as “Mayuri Nari” was also targeted after it ignored warnings from IRGC naval forces and attempted to continue crossing the strait.
The statement concluded by asserting that the Strait of Hormuz was under the control and management of the IRGC’s naval forces, adding that the United States and its partners would not be allowed to navigate through the strategic waterway.
