TEHRAN, March 05 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced early Thursday the launch of the 19th wave of Operation True Promise 4, describing the operation as a coordinated missile and drone assault.
According to the IRGC, the operation targeted “enemy Zionist sites in the heart of occupied lands and US bases in the region, causing massive explosions.”
Israeli media reported that missiles were fired from Iran toward central Israel and occupied Jerusalem, as well as toward US military positions in the region. Air raid sirens sounded across large areas shortly afterward.
According to Israeli Home Front Command statements, sirens were first activated in the central region before expanding across 143 settlements in the Gush Dan area, and later to 194 settlements in the same region.
Explosions were reported in Tel Aviv and the surrounding areas. Israeli media said between 15 and 20 blasts were heard across the central region.
Israeli media reported that some of the missiles may have carried cluster munition warheads, while Iranian officials have previously said their missile arsenal includes hypersonic weapons.
Interception attempts were reported over Bnei Brak, with further explosions heard across the Gush Dan region.
According to Israeli media, an Israeli emergency services spokesperson said paramedics were dispatched to treat people injured while running toward protected shelters during the sirens.
The Israeli military said its air defense systems were working to intercept missiles launched from Iran and instructed residents of central Israel to remain in shelters until further notice.
Earlier Wednesday, the IRGC announced the 18th wave of Operation True Promise 4, saying it had targeted strategic Israeli sites, including the Israeli Ministry of Security building and Ben Gurion Airport.
The statement said that more than seven advanced radar systems had been destroyed, saying this had effectively blinded what it described as “the eye of the United States and the Zionist entity in the region.”
