Hebrew media: Commercial aircraft evacuated from Ben Gurion and Haifa airports

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 28 (YPA) – Hebrew newspaper Maariv reported on Saturday that Israeli airport authorities have decided to evacuate commercial aircraft from Ben Gurion International Airport and Haifa Airport following an escalation of Iranian missile strikes on strategic sites within Israeli territory.

The decision comes amid security assessments highlighting increased risks to air traffic, with potential delays or cancellations of scheduled flights in the coming days to ensure the safety of passengers and aircraft.

Israeli sources confirmed that additional security measures have been implemented, including heightened alert levels at airports and reinforced air defense systems around critical infrastructure, aimed at mitigating the impact of any potential escalation.

The newspaper noted that the move reflects growing Israeli concerns over Iran’s missile capabilities, which now pose a direct threat to both civilian and military installations, further heightening regional tensions.

Experts in “Israel” have raised questions about the readiness of the country’s air defense systems to respond to sudden attacks amid ongoing escalations between Tehran and Israel on multiple fronts.
